Mediums
Mediums I enjoy doing are painting and sketching. Painting is calming and more entertaining to me especially if I have to blend. I love to paint different landscapes, but I want to challenge myself in the future by painting a portrait of someone. Sketching has always come more easy to me, especially when it came to drawing people. But now I'm doing more still drawings, which is a challenge for me, but I will keeping trying none the less.
Techniques
- Use wider Brushes for blending and larger sections of the painting
- Use round brushes for grass and dab in on the canvas rather than using strokes
- To blend acrylic paint, to long strokes with your brush and try to use more of the lighter colour when blending
- Using your finger or a paper towel to blend oil and chock pastel
- Use your finger or a paper towel to blend charcoal
- If you want less light in your photo, use a higher shutter speed
- If you want more light in your photo, use a lower shutter speed
- Always do a starting layer of paint before actually getting started (use more water than paint for this layer)
- If you want water colour to blend together, use a tad bit more water and swish the edges together for it to dry and blend
- Don't let water colour dry quick if you are trying to blend
