Rowley Film Project
All About Me Project |
This piece was for an assignment called "All About Me", which means you must create a collage of different kinds of media while also representing yourself as a person. You could put down different interests, activities you do, places you've been, heritage, etc. For me, I created a tree (which symbolizes growth), within a simple landscape. On the ground, I painted on activities I've either quit or lost interest in. In the tree, I painted on activities I currently enjoy or are doing right now. In the sky, I just cut out some birds from books and glued them on. This piece is supposed show to the viewer that whatever you did before and what you currently are doing will reflect your future, even if you aren't so clear on what you want your future to look like.

Acrylic Painting
In class, we were asked to create an acrylic painting of anything we wanted. Some did portraits while others did landscapes. I wanted to challenge myself with a landscape that had different kinds of textures. I also was aiming for something a little more abstract. I choose a swamp for my reference photo, then edited the textures in the photo to look more abstract. There isn't any intended message or meaning behind this piece, it's just a abstract swamp painting. I'm happy how this painting turned out, but I definitely want to work on painting more in the future.

Still Life Drawing
For this piece, we were asked to find an image or objects and recreate them in a series of different medias. Our options were pencil, charcoal, and pencil crayons. For me, I chose to do pencil crayon and pencil. I used pencil for the outline of the objects, then filled them in with pencil crayon. I found these objects to be a challenge to draw because of the amount of detail there was when it came to lighting and that fact it was glass. I feel i did a great job portraying these object and making them seem 3D. I would still like to work on still life drawings and further improve my skills.
